Methodology: The Blomstra Geopolitical Risk Index combines three pillars —
Militarization (military expenditure % GDP, World Bank/SIPRI),
Conflict (battle deaths per 100k, UCDP GED 26.1), and
Displacement (refugee outflow/inflow per 100k, UNHCR).
Each pillar is log-normalized and weighted:
Risk = (Mil × 0.25) + (Con × 0.45) + (Disp × 0.30).
